Honeywell is an international company with excellent career opportunities. We are seeking candidates for Senior/Lead Electrical Development Engineer for our Redmond, WA, facility. This is a new opportunity in the expanding energy management industry.

The position leads major new product developments from concept to release of high-volume / low-cost microprocessor based control devices for the residential and commercial building market.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Senior/Lead EE designer on projects; ability to generate specs from market requirements and then generate designs that meet specifications.
  • Architect product design.
  • Perform schematic capture, first principles analysis, and simulations.
  • Provides technical direction and oversight for subordinates.
  • Adept at assessing risk, managing and mitigating risk, escalation of issues, and drive conformance to process.
  • Works with Product Management to clarify project requirements and any unique customer requirements that will drive engineering tasks.
  • Works with design team to insure all project risks are identified and resources are put in place to achieve the project goals.
  • Ability to convey well-articulated plans with resource requirements and capital appropriation requirements...
  • Ability to scope the size of work and determine resources required to achieve the deadline.
  • Project management. Plans, coordinates and oversees project implementation.
  • Develops detailed plans that have the input of the team members. Can execute the plans and get the teams designs into production.
  • Collaboration with product management to develop a comprehensive voice-of-the-customer (VOC) then builds the VOC into a detailed Product Requirements Specification (PRS).
  • Provide work direction and mentoring for other engineers, interns, technicians, and CAD drafting.
  • Interact with other departments and teams to achieve common objectives, manage multiple, concurrent projects; and participate in developing next-generation product line strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • Seven plus years experience with Real time control Systems

Additional Qualifications:

  • Progressive five to ten year proven track record MS Degree preferred.
  • Seven plus years experience with the design of distributed real time control systems.
  • Successfully generate designs of mid-to-high volume electronic devices with mixed analog and digital circuits;
  • History of leading teams and putting product into production;
  • Experience with developing system strategies; and prior work within a global development team.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Experience with Microsoft set of tools including WORD, EXCEL, MS-Project.
  • RF background.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, self-motivation, leadership, and team orientation a must.
