SAR ADC Cadence to Matlab
Nov 29th, 2018, 11:30am

Hello,

I am designing a SAR ADC in Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre and want to export the output of the DAC to MATLAB.

Is there a way to automate this in Cadence Virtuoso - a file write block in Verilog-A ?

Is this publicly available, included in Virtuoso or available somewhere else ?

Any tutorials about this available ?

Thank you.

I suggest looking into Matlab Spectre Toolbox. You can directly pull the Cadence output data from Matlab with the cds_srr command.

The support website has examples, although it is a little hard to read. In the end, it requires a bit of trial and error to get the syntax right.

Otherwise, you can write outputs with an ocean script. I used to do this until I learned about the Matlab Spectre Toolbox.
