Boost Converter/ Frequency Response/ Compensation
Apr 29th, 2018, 11:15pm

Good day everyone! I just would like to ask few questions.

I am currently working on boost converter with the following specifications:

  Vin=1.2V
  Vout=2.5V
  Iload=130mA (Rload=19.3 ohm)
  switching frequency=500kHz
in a TSMC65nm technology environment.

As per calculation values of my inductor and capacitor with the condition to operate in CCM mode are the following:

   L=657uH  but used Lfinal=900uH to make sure operate in CCM mode
    C=19nF but used 3uF to make a sure ripple=1%

But having confusion as I have tested and simulated my RLC which is attached herewith.

Testing results and simulation results depict a gain of -58.5dB to compensation.

My questions are:

1. Is this gain to be compensated realistic? Is it a bit large
2. If this is realistic can you suggest what type of compensation is suitable for this?
   Btw, I have already design a miller OTA with an gain 70.2dB, pgase>50 deg and a   UGB=10MHz

that's all, thank you.

Best regard,

reann
