Measure AC current Cadence
Jan 22nd, 2018, 3:21pm

Hi,

I am using the Spectre simulator in Cadence to test cross coupled LC tank oscillator. I would like to measure the magnitude of the AC current at a particular node (drain of one of the cross coupled pair or the drain of the transistor with the injected signal). I have never measured AC current before and have no clue where to start.

My main confusion is how to configure the AC analysis to measure the current. The oscillation frequency is 1GHz, but I am injecting signals (injection locking) to change the frequency.

Could anyone provide some insight on how to measure the AC current? Thank you.

EDIT: Ok, so I think I figured it. All I did was select on outputs >> to be plotted >> then selected the drain of the transistor. And ran a transient analysis.
