Marker read bug of Smith Chart of Cadence ViVA
Feb 24th, 2017, 5:39am

Code:
sp sp start=0 stop=3G step=1G

This statement of Cadence Spectre generates s-parameters at freq=0, 1GHz, 2GHz and 3GHz.
Try plot S11 in Smith Chart of Cadence ViVA.
Change plot with symbol and without line.

You can confirm four points.
Move cursol to each point and confirm frequency by tracking information.

You see 0, 0, 1GHz and 2GHz.
There is no last frequency, 3GHz.

Have you known such bug of Smith Chart of Cadence ViVA ?

Yes, this is a known bug. The CCR number is 1206665. If this is important to you, I suggest contacting customer support to file a duplicate request (the current CCR is from an internal user only).

There's a workaround - use Marker->Snap Tracking Cursor (to turn on the snapping of the tracking cursor to the actual points in the waveform). Then it will work. Without this, it is incorrectly always picking the frequency of the previous point on the trace.

Regards,

Andrew
