Why I got something wrong when I tried to see the values of the register?

Hello

I’m using a SCM MSP430G2553 (pdf.) to do serial communication and want to see the values of the receiving data register. But problem occurs here:
 
Error: Could not read 0X0066: execution state prevented the access

Can anyone tell me why? I just connected a USB cable. Do I need a simulator?
