X Y snap spacing for layout window
Mar 07th, 2016, 9:03am

Hi,
In display options form of Virtuoso layout window there are 2 entries X snap and Y snap. Which documents from foundry contain these information? Can anyone suggest me for TSMC 65nm?

Hello

This information is required to avoid off grid errors. Foundries can typically snap their mask dimensions to a certain scale. This will be part of the DRC rule manual and also you should find it in the rule deck.

Oh by the way, I think it is 5nm (0.005, when units are set to um in Virtuoso layout) for the process you have asked for.

You can always check it in your techfile by running a SKILL command in CIW:

Code:
techGetMfgGridResolution(techGetTechFile(geGetEditCellView()))

(basically what it does is call the techfile and render the info for you if I understood correctly myself)
it should output a value in um
