Optical receiver Noise measurement
Feb 03rd, 2014, 8:16am

dear All,
I would like to know  typical noise measurement of a optical receiver, my circuit consists of two single ended Trans impedance amplifiers and then these outputs are amplified with 3 stage differential amplifiers (around 70dB again total) .  In my lab we are measuring single ended noise variance with real time scope and multiplying with sqrt(2) for the total differential noise(assuming both are UN-correlated), is this UN-correlated assumption valid in all cases or any exceptions?

Thanks,
Raj.
