How to generate AM signal in Cadence
Feb 05th, 2009, 8:06am

Hi all,

Sounds so easy, but I am still not finding any solution to generate an AM signal using Cadence. Anyone tried this before ?

Thank you very much,

DYL

If creating a schematic, use vsource or isource from analogLib. Set source type to be sine, and enter the main frequency and amplitude. Then click on "Display modulation params", and fill in your AM modulation frequency and index (and phase if you want).

You can do the same with the "port" component too.

In spectre, these are just parameters of vsource, isource, or port. Type "spectre -h vsource" for details on the parameters.

Regards,

Andrew.
